Leroy “Jimmy” Taylor III, 62, a former resident of Patricia Avenue, passed away at 4:35 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2003, at his residence at 940 S. Davis Ave., where he had resided for the past two years.

He was born April 5, 1940, in Washington, D.C., a son of the late Leroy Jr. and Louise Thomas Taylor.

On Sept. 1, 1960, he was united in marriage to the former Evelyn Cross, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Hilda Marie) Borror and close friend, Amy, of Elkins, Mrs. Michael (Virginia Nora) Hawkins of Stephens City, Va.; two sons, Leroy “Jimbo” Taylor IV and wife, Mindy, of Montrose, Donald “Donnie” Taylor and fiance, Carrie, of Stephens City, Va.; one foster son, Wade Wills and wife, Mandy, of Fredricksburg, Va.; and one sister, Virginia Bickdonawitch of Glen Burnie, Md.

Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Crystal Thorne and husband, Paul, Jonathon Taylor and fiance, Paula, Elizabeth Wyatt, Shane Rohr Stephanie Rohr, Michael Hawkins, Kayla Taylor, Michelle Hawkins, Alex Taylor, Austin Hawkins, Christina Wills and Tyler Wills; two great-grandchildren, Ashley Edmond, Brooklyn Wyatt; and one due in November; several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceding him in death besides his parents were one sister, Margaret L. Hood; and one brother, Donald James Taylor.

He was a truck driver for 28 years, having been employed by Manville Corp. and retiring in 1984.

Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home Saturday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Vernard Tasker, pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy will officiate. At the request of the deceased, the remains will be cremated. The F.E. Runner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Leroy “Jimmy” Taylor. From 4 and 5 Apr 2003.
