Leslie Betler White, 51, a resident of Helvetia, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 22, 2015.

She was at her home surrounded by her family. Leslie was born in Elkins on Wednesday, April 24, 1963, a daughter of the late Howard “Bud” Betler and Eleanor Louise Prysock Betler of Helvetia.

On February 14, 1983 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was married to James D. White who survives.

They had celebrated thirty one years of marriage.

Also surviving Leslie is her son Joseph W. White and his wife Elisa of Elkins, two brothers, Bruce Betler (Father Otto OSB) of St. Ottilien Germany, Brian Betler and wife, Angel of Lanexa Va., one sister Mary Alice Ricottilli and husband, Stanley of Valley Bend, nieces and nephews, Shane and Julie White, Seth and wife, Kristi, Hannah and Clay Betler, grandnieces, Kylie and Khloe Betler, grandnephew, Charles White.

Preceding Leslie in death are her two sons, Brian and Daniel. Leslie graduated from Pickens High School class of 1981.

She attended Carlo College and she received her LPN certification at Randolph County Technical Center, and earned her BSN degree at Alderson Broaddus University.

She worked as a nurse at Davis Memorial Hospital, Hospice Care Corporation where she held several different positions within the corporation.

She most recently worked for Dr. Samuel Roberts in Elkins. Leslie was a member of The Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Pickens, Yahweh Sisterhood, Helvetia Farm Women’s Club, Helvetia Restoration and Development Association, Helvetia Yodeling and Folklore Group, Helvetia Fair Association and she was the lead singer of the Helvetia-pickens Ecumenical Choir.

She held 4-h close to her heart. She was a member of the WV 4-h All Stars, the Randolph County 4-h Foundation and she served as camp nurse for several years.

Leslie enjoyed singing, dancing and fostering the younger generation to sing. She was a good friend and loved by many.

Leslie’s request for cremation was honored. A time for family and friends will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Sunday from 5PM-8PM.

On Monday, January 26, 2015, a Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00A at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pickens. Father Ron Nikodem, S.M. will be the celebrant and inurnment will follow in the Pickens I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice Care Corporation, 169 Diamond Street, Elkins, WV 26241 or to Pickens Volunteer Fire Dept., Pickens, WV 26249.
