LESTER EARL WHITE, age 86 years, a resident of Job, WV departed this life Friday morning, April 26, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born Sunday, August 29, 1926 at Job, WV a son of the late Virgil and Pearl Davis White. He was twice married. First on February 23, 1952 at Harman, WV to the former Bertha Belle Youtzy, who preceded him in death during 2002. Second on December 20, 1972 at Elkins, WV to the former Viola V. Howell Nelson, who survives at the Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center. Also surviving are one son, Jason Theodore White, of Job; three daughters, Virginia Rose Johnson, of Kerens; Paula Faye Bashford and husband Edward, of Alliance, NE; Lisa Lynn Cogar, of Job; two stepsons, Richard; and Charles Nelson; one brother, Harold White, of Elkins; two sisters, Georgie White; and Anna Jane Hedrick, both of Elkins; eight grandchildren; Linda Davis; Matthew; April; and Joseph Johnson; Jessica Zudi; Megan Miller; Anthony “A.J.” Cogar, Jr.; and Nicole Snyder; and twelve great grandchildren, Andrea; Amanda; Makayla; Madison; Kaylee; Kohl; Joseph; Autumn; A.J.; Alexis; Shonondelia; and Cheyanne; and one great great granddaughter, Braylee

Preceding him in death are one daughter, Linda Belle White; two stepsons; one stepdaughter; six brothers, James; Roy; Matthew; John; Edgar; and Benjamin White; and three sisters, Pauline; Hallie Marie; and Mary Elizabeth White.

Lester attended the schools of Randolph County and was a graduate in Diesel Mechanics from the Fred Eberly Tri-county Vo-tech Center. He had worked for various farmers during his life, LabCraft for nine years and retired in 1992 from the Randolph County Court House, where he had worked for fourteen and one half years as a custodian. He was a member of the Job Church of God and enjoyed the outdoors, doing things like gardening, hunting, playing volleyball, riding his four wheeler, working in his workshop and visiting friends and loved ones. He especially enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog “Jack”. Lester will be greatly missed and forever remembered in the hearts of his family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 6 to 9 PM, Monday. On Tuesday, April 30, 2013, Mr. White will be moved to the Job Church of God where final rites will be conducted at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Todd Rhodes and the Rev. William McCallister will officiate and interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery at Job, WV.
