Linda Rae Rish, age 65, a resident of Martinsburg, WV, died Saturday evening, July 7, 2012, in Hambleton, WV. She had been in her usual health and death was sudden and unexpected. Linda was born in Elkins, WV, December 13, 1946, a daughter of the late Robert F. “Fred” and Lenora Armstrong Combs, Sr. On June 15, 1969 in Washington, D.C., Linda was married to Larry Bryan Rish who preceded her in death June 25, 1988. Linda is survived by one daughter and special son-in-law, Suzanne Rish Egolf and husband Bruce, Martinsburg, WV. Also surviving are two sisters, Phyllis Henline, Blackman Flats, and LuAnn Combs Barton and husband Bradley, Hambleton; one brother, Steven W. Combs, Hendricks, WV; and several nieces and nephews. Linda leaves behind her kitty “Sixty” and her grand dog “Dutchess”, as well as a host of wonderful friends. Linda was preceded in death by her brother Robert F. “Freddie” Combs, Jr. Linda is a graduate of the former Parsons High School, Class of 1964. She was a member of the Hambleton United Methodist Church. She was semi-retired and worked part time as a medical receptionist at a physician’s office in Inwood, WV. A few of her passions were reading books, playing on the computer, flowers, cats – especially her kitty “Sixty”, and playing the slots. Linda enjoyed spending much of her spare time paling around with her friends and daughter, Suzanne. In keeping with her request, Linda’s body has been cremated. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 14, 2012, at the Hambleton United Methodist Church, Hambleton, WV. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m, the service hour. Reverend Harley DeLeurere, retired Methodist minister, and Loren Metzner, minister of the Hambleton United Methodist Church will officiate. The Summerfield Funeral Home, 225 Walnut Street, Parsons, WV, is entrusted with the arrangements for Linda Rae Rish.
