Linda Sue Wilfong, 48, a resident of Route 1, Montrose, the Leading Creek Road, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2003. Her death was unexpected.

She was born Nov. 9, 1954, at Elkins, a daughter of the late Sewell Ward Wilfong and Wilma Vanscoy Wilfong.

She was never married.

She is survived by seven brothers, Leroy Wilfong and wife, Bessie, Neil Wilfong and wife, Ruby, Duane Wilfong and wife, Shirley, all of Montrose, Dale Wilfong and wife, Debbie, of Glenmore, Eddie Wilfong and wife, Betty, Joe Wilfong and wife, Sarah, and Danny Wilfong, all of Montrose; five sisters, Shelva Lagatta and husband, Pete, of Escondia, Calif., Carol Rosier and husband, Willard of Montrose, Trudy Rexrode and husband, Gary “Doc” Rexrode of Route 2, Elkins, Faye Nesbitt and husband, Rick, of Montrose, and Shelia Workman and husband, Myles “Pork” Workman of Lincolnton, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a self-employed housekeeper for many families in the Elkins area. She enjoyed helping people and spending time with children.

At her request, her remains were donated to the Human Gift Registry for medical research at Morgantown. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. The Rev. Donald L. Lockhart will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Knight Templar Eye Foundation, PO Box 741, Elkins, W.Va. 26241 or the West Virginia Affiliate of the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 1115, Dunbar, W.Va. 25064 in memory of Linda. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of memorial services for Linda Sue Wilfong.
