Lloyd K. Doyle, 73, a resident of Monterville, passed away Saturday morning, June 22, 2002, at his home.
He was born Feb. 13, 1926, in Monterville, a son of the late Jesse and Ada Tumblin Doyle.
He was married to Gwen Doyle, who survives at Monterville.
Also surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Doyle and wife, Phyllis, Valley Head, and Bradley Doyle and wife, Brenda, Philippi; one stepson, Michael Dean and wife, Luann, Washington, D.C.; one daughter, Lisa Vechrey, Mantua, Ohio; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Daniel (Roberta) Tiesler, Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. David (Rebecca) Harrington, Garrettsville, Ohio, and Mrs. Kenneth (Richelle) Roy of Valley Head; two brothers, Willard Doyle, Elmira, N.Y., and Gene Doyle and wife, Sandra, of Elkins; one sister, Mrs. Larry (Mary Ann) Rodgers of Milton; and several grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Jesse Doyle Jr., Delbert and Hubert Doyle.
Mr. Doyle was employed by General Motors Corp., in Cleveland, Ohio, until his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Cowger United Methodist Church, the Ruritan Club and the Valley Head Community Building Committee.
Friends were received at Cowger United Methodist Church near Monterville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Cowger United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Baer officiating. Interment will follow in Mingo Cemetery. At the request of the family, flowers are to be omitted. Contributions may be made to the Make-a-wish Foundation of Northern West Virginia, 1000 Dupont Road, Box 7, Morgantown, W.Va. 26505 in memory of Mr. Doyle. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements.
