Lois Lee Semones Kyle Carr 1935-2020 Obituary
Lois Lee Semones Kyle Carr, age 84 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020 in the Davis Medical Center.
She was born May 21, 1935 in Elkins a daughter of the late John Gatewood Semones, Sr. and the late Georgia Poling Semones.
She was twice married, first to Jessie Kyle who preceded her in death and later to Solomon Carr who survives in Elkins.
Also surviving are three sons, James Kyle and wife Emma of Belington, WV, David Kyle and wife Teresa of Philippi, WV and Stephen Kyle of Elkins. One son-in-law, Ed Cathers resides in North Carolina. One daughter, Brenda Crowder and husband Tom of Chester, VA; two step-daughters, Gail Griffith and husband Wayne and, Vickie Carr, one brother, Gary Semones and wife Elaine of California, a sister, Adrienne Vance and husband Hollis of Elkins; fourteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren and one step great-great grandchild also survive. Also preceding her in death were her grandparents, Arthur and Russie Semones and Ira and Rosa Belle Poling, one daughter, Arlene Cathers, one step daughter, Linda Channel and her deceased husband Ray, one brother, John Gatewood Semones, Jr., three sisters, Ardith Ferguson and husband Fred, Becky Elzinga and husband Allen and Lyndoll Burton and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Carr attended the schools of Randolph County, was a homemaker and retired as an Aide at Third Ward Elementary School.
She was a member of Delphia Rebekah Lodge No. 62 of Elkins and was a member of the Tygart Valley Baptist Church.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, a graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 23, 2020 at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman.
Pastor Jack Howell will officiate and interment will follow.
