Lola Mae Lambert, 92, of Franklin, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at the home of her daughter, Katie George, with whom she lived.

She was born Feb. 10, 1910, at Osceola, a daughter of the late George Homan Eye and Mary Elizabeth Moyers Eye.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Smith Creek Church of the Brethren for 80 years, being the oldest member of the congregation. She served 73 years in the church ladies aid society. She was the 1984 Pendleton County Mother of the Year and the 1988 Pendleton County Belle.

On May 7, 1927, she married Esta John “Keggy” Lambert, who preceded her in death on April 9, 1983.

Surviving are five daughters, Kathleen Kettlewell of Wheeling, Imogene Tingler of Elkins, Dottie Miller of Beltsville, Md., Linda Lambert of Truxton, N.Y., and Katie George of Franklin; four sons, Clinton Lambert of Marina, Calif., Russell Carroll Lambert of Harrisonburg, Va., Ervin Dale Lambert of Bridgewater, Va., and Benny Lambert of Grottoes, Va.; two sisters, Irene Allamong of Winchester, Va., and Erma Johnson of Suffolk, Va.; 20 grandchildren, including one granddaughter, whom she raised, Barbara Miller of Rockville, Md.; 18 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, three stepgreat-grandchildren and a special beloved pet, Taz.

She was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, George and Poldi Lambert.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Smith Creek Church of the Brethren with Pastor Max Fisher and Pastor Dan Ludwick officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery at Franklin. Friends may call at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin after 8 a.m. today. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel. Memorials may be made to Smith Creek Ladies Aid Society, in care of Nancy Scott, Franklin, W.Va. 26807.
