Loma Elizabeth Cleavenger, 89, a resident of Good Samaritan, a 32-year resident of Clarksburg, and formerly of Barbour County, passed away at 12:40 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2003, in United Hospital Center.

She was born Jan. 6, 1914, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Henry L. and Lillie M. Bennett Prince.

She was united in marriage to Pinnell D. Cleavenger, who preceded her in death in 1966.

Surviving are one daughter, Jean and son-in-law, Jim Wagner of Galloway; one son, Pinnell Cleavenger of Philippi; four sisters, Pauline Slagle of Pittsburgh, Pa., Virginia Clem of Nutter Fort, Lucille Loudin, Good Hope, and Mary Tenny of Clarksburg; one brother, Paul Prince of Four States; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruthie Harris; one son, James “Butch” Cleavenger; five brothers, Carl, William, Ralph, Kenneth and Worthy Prince; three sisters, Roselee Ross, Maggie Crouse and Sue Crouse; three infants; and one grandson, Andy Kurucz Jr.

She was a retired restaurant cook. She was a member of the Senior Citizens of Clarksburg. She was a Methodist by faith.

Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, after 3 p.m. today.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Patty Post officiating.

Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
