Lora White, 84, a former resident of 517 Center St., Elkins, and a patient in Swisher’s Personal care Home in Elkins, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, May 5, 2002, in the home.

She was born June 9, 1917, at Davis, a daughter of the late John S. and Agnes Jordan White.

She was twice married, first to Wes Elza, who preceded her in death. In 1938, she married Paul White, who preceded her in death in 1958.

She is survived by one son, Don A. White and wife, Arlene, Elkins; one daughter-in-law, Bobbie Elza of Parsons; two brothers, Harry White, Elkins, and William White, Parsons; five sisters, twin sister, Lorraine “Katy” White, Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, Vallie Davis and Lucille Armstead, both of Elkins, Mona Carr, Dry Fork, and Elsie Masik, Trenton, N.J.; six grandchildren, Billy Dean Elza, Parsons, Eric Elza, El Paso, Texas, Todd Elza, Washington, D.C., Debra White, Jeffrey White and David White, all of Elkins; and several great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were one son, Jack Elza; one brother, Charlie White; one half brother, Gordon Lambert; and two sisters, Ruby Roberts and Geneva Abbott.

Mrs. White was employed as an aide at Oak Meadows Nursing Home in Alexandria, Va., for 25 years.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ralph Andrus officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care Corporation, 629 North Ave., Elkins, W.Va. 26241
