Loretta Boggs 1937-2003 Obituary
Loretta J. Hedrick Boggs, 66, a resident of 805 Poe Run Road, Elkins, departed this life late Friday evening, Nov. 21, 2003, at the Davis Memorial Hospital. She had been in declining health for the past five years and death was attributed to cancer.
She was born Friday, Oct. 1, 1937, at Pocahontas County, the daughter of the late Walter L. Hedrick and Kathryn L. Lester Hedrick.
On Oct. 13, 1956, at Elkins, she was married to Roscoe Harold Boggs, who preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1994.
Surviving are four brothers, Eddie Hedrick of Elkins, Homer Hedrick of Elkins, Roger Hedrick and wife, Linda, of Elkins, and Johnny Hedrick and wife, Pat, of Detroit, Mich.; three sisters, Carolyn Shaffer and husband, Charles, of Elkins, Patsy Smith and husband, Floyd, of Montrose, and Peggy Thrift and husband, Ronnie, of Long Creek, S.C.; five half brothers, Donnie Hedrick and wife, Joyce, of Montrose, Billy Hedrick and wife, Tammy, of Montrose, Tommy Hedrick of Elkins, Junior Hedrick and wife, Nancy, of Belington, and Patrick Hedrick of Huttonsville; three half sisters, Rose Mary Pritt, and husband, Dick, of Knox, Pa., Juanita Johnson and husband, Daril, of Huttonsville, and Diane Shaffer and husband, Charles, of Beverly; one stepbrother, Richard Wolford of Elkins; one stepsister, Wilma Stewart of Mason County; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband are her stepmother, Pansy Hedrick Wolford; and one half brother, Jimmy Hedrick.
She attended the schools of Randolph County, was a homemaker and was a Methodist by faith.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Pastor David M.
