Lorren Jack Lawrence 1940-2002 Obituary

Lorren Jack Lawrence, 61, a resident of Hendricks, departed this life Saturday morning, April 6, 2002, at his home. He had been in his usual health and death was attributed to a massive heart attack.

He was born June 14, 1940, at Lanesville, a son of the late James Monroe Lawrence and Goldie Marie Pennington Lawrence.

On Aug. 29, 1958, at Grantsville, Md., he was married to the former Donna June Parsons, who survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Jack Allen Lawrence and wife, Alicia, Gerrardstown, Rex Sheldon Lawrence and wife, Tammy, Gregory Gene Lawrence and wife, Carla Jo, all of Belington, and Todd Monroe Lawrence and wife, Amy; one daughter, Deanna Michele Krizner and husband, Frank, all of Philippi; three brothers, Errol K. Lawrence and wife, Martha, Elkins, Samuel D. Lawrence and wife, Joan, Belington, and Sheldon Lawrence Pennington and wife, Kathy, Winchester, Va.; four sisters, Charlotte B. Pennington and husband, Otto, Elkins, Barbara S. Berry and husband, Bill, Parsons, Lola K. Pennington and husband, Junior, Hendricks, and Althea J. Judy and husband, David, Elkins; 18 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, 41 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, James Lawrence Jr.; and two sisters, Gladys M. Roy and Maxine F. Menge.

He was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1958. He was a truck driver for more than 40 years. He owned and operated Lawrence & Sons Truck and Autos at Belington for five years, when he retired. He was a member of the Hambleton Pentecostal Church of God of which he was a Deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He was an avid Indian Motorcycle and Harley Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast and was an avid outdoorsman and hunter.

Friends will be received at Barb & Greenlief Funeral Home today from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Tuesday, Mr. Lawrence will be moved to Hambleton Pentecostal Church of God, where friends may call from noon until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Randall K. Lawrence will officiate and interment will follow in Parsons City Cemetery in Parsons.
