Lucille Cathern Bava 1915-2002 Obituary

Lucille Cathern Bava, 87, formerly of Davis, and more recently of Cleveland, Tenn., passed away Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, in a Cleveland hospital, after an extended illness.

She was born Nov. 29, 1915, in Youngstown, Ohio, and raised by her late foster parents, Uncle Robert Rexrode and Aunt Lillian Rexrode.

She is survived by two daughters, Juanita Stone and husband, Fred Stone Sr., and Janet Williams and husband, Wilbert Williams, all of Cleveland, Tenn.; two brothers, James Wyatt of Cleveland, Ohio, and Robert Rexrode of Deland, Fla.; and various nieces and nephews. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Diana Stone of Virginia Beach, Va., Perry Stone Jr., Phillip Stone, Melanie Stone and Cliff Williams, all of Cleveland, Tenn., Steve Campbell of Shinnston, and Cathy Allen of Reedsville; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by by her husband, the Rev. John Bava; and four sisters, Jane Presutti, Anna Rupert, Cathern Rexrode Cooper and Virginia Rexrode Jenkins.

Mrs. Bava was a member of the Church of God in Bayard, but attended the North Cleveland, Tenn., Church of God. She volunteered her services at her grandson’s ministry center, the Voice of Evangelism in Cleveland, Tenn., up until she became too ill to assist.

Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Davis Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the funeral hour. The Revs. Fred Stone, Perry Stone and William McAllister will officiate at the 2 p.m. service. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
