Mabel Melinda Rader Williams, 90, a former resident of Mill Creek and a resident of Belington, passed away at 4:33 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at her residence.

She was born July 12, 1912, at Mill Creek, a daughter of the late Glen and Deborah Rader.

In 1929, she was married to the Rev. Foster Williams Sr., who preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 1988.

She is survived by four sons, Carp Williams and wife, Phyllis, of Kerens, Marshall Ray Williams and wife, Nancy, of Mill Creek, Foster Gay Williams II and wife, Sue, Harding, and Johnny Paul Williams and wife, Margie, of Belington; one son-in-law, Wayne Bohon of Bridgeport; three daughters, Betty Jean Dedie, Newton Falls, Ohio, Mrs. Donald (Maryn Gay) Shaw of Mill Creek, and Mrs. Bill (Rachell) Lane of Belington; one daughter-in-law, Delores Williams of Coalton; one sister, Mrs. Howard (Creta) Louk of Belington; 37 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Daisy Currence of Mabie, Violet Hodges of Buckhannon, and Mary Jane Williams of Wheeling; one brother-in-law, Ted Williams of Elkins, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Also preceding her in death were four sons, Carroll, Arnold, Dana and Ernie Williams; two daughters, Thelma Mae McCauley Beck and Norma Bohon; five brothers, Nyal, Gail, Elmer, Jimmy and Cecil Rader; and five sisters, Bessie Chewning, Ruby Cutright, Exie Fanning, Hazel Rutherford and Gladys Rader.

Mrs. Williams was one of the oldest members of the Memorial Mission Church at Mill Creek, having helped start the first Vacation Bible School.

She attended numerous churches in Barbour County with the Rev. Williams, where she loved to sing during services.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday from the funeral home chapel.

The Rev. Frank Long, the Rev. Marshall Williams and the Rev. Mark Epperson will officiate and interment will follow in Zirkle Cemetery near Cassity.

The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Mabel Melinda Williams.
