Marcus Lew Davis 1980-2002 Obituary

Marcus Lew Davis, 21, a resident of Valley Head, where he made his home with his grandparents, James and Judy Jones, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at 6:10 a.m. at Ruby Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient since early Saturday morning. Death was attributed to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born June 23, 1980, in Elkins, a son of G. Franklin T. Davis and Vicki Jones Fisher, who survive in Pfafftown, N.C.

Also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Thomas H. and Nancy T. Davis.

He attended Tygarts Valley and Pocahontas County schools. At the time of his death, he was employed by Snowshoe as a switchboard operator. His loves were the outdoors, snow boarding, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends. He was a Protestant by faith.

At the request of the deceased the remains were cremated. A memorial services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the home of his grandparents, James and Judy Jones, Route 15, Valley Head. The Rev. Elizabeth “Butch” Baker, pastor of the Brookhaven United Methodist Church in Morgantown, will officiate. Interment will follow in Mingo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made in Mark’s name to the Rosenbaum Family House, W.Va. University Hospitals, PO Box 8228, Medical Center Drive, Morgantown, W.Va. 26506-8228 or to a charity of your choice. The F.E. Runner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
