Margaret Ann “Margie” Thomas 1935-2017 Obituary

Margaret Ann “Margie” Thomas, age 82 years, a resident of Elkins passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 in the Hospice of the Panhandle at Kearneysville, WV. She was born July 29, 1935 at Philippi, WV, a daughter of the late Sanford and Pearl Zickefoose Zirkle. On March 10, 1956 in Elkins, she was married to Arnold H. Thomas who preceded her in death September 4, 2004.

She is survived by one son, Arnold H. Thomas, Jr. and wife Victoria of Martinsburg, WV, one grandson, Paul Arnold Thomas and two sisters, Vernia Hammonds of Shadyside, OH and Mary Bertelli of Wheeling, WV. Also preceding her in death were five brothers, Virgil, Thomas, Maynard, Everett and Reuben Zirkle and two sisters, Iona Thomas and Lona Bailey. Margaret was a former employee of Reidbord Brothers Company and a member of the Landmark Baptist Church of Elkins.

Friends may call from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday from the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman with Dr. Ken Shiflet officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Landmark Baptist Church, 7 Forest Brook Drive, Elkins, WV 26241 or the Randolph County Humane Society, PO Box 785, Elkins, WV, 26241 in memory of Mrs. Thomas.
