Margaret Kelley Marsh 1914-2002 Obituary

Margaret Kelley Marsh, 87, a resident of Charleston and a former resident of Philippi, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, in the Heartland of Charleston Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 28, 1914, in Barbour County, a daughter of the late Woodbridge and Della Lee Bennett Kelley.

She was united in marriage to Herbert O. Marsh, who preceded her in death in 1992.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald Thomas and wife, Reba Jo Upton, Charleston, and James Stephen and wife, Sonja Upton, Hurricane; one granddaughter, Cindy Delaney, Charleston; three grandsons, Andy Upton, Buckhannon, James Upton, Hurricane, and Thomas Lee Upton, Charleston; one stepgranddaughter, Julie Harkins, Knoxville; two stepgrandsons, Thomas Marsh and Kelley Marsh; and two great-grandchildren, Jessica Delaney and Kayden Upton.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Marsh retired from the State of West Virginia Rehabilitation Center.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution John Young Chapter of Charleston, Order of the Eastern Star Tiskelwah No. 45 of Charleston and Chapter 41 Order of the Eastern Star of Philippi.

She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Charleston and was a former member of the Philippi Baptist Church.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home, 21 N. Walnut St., Philippi, after 5 p.m. Sunday. Chapter 41 Order of the Eastern Star will conduct memorial services at 7 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Cross Roads Cemetery.
