Margarete Geneva George, age 75 years, a resident of Cassity, passed away September 13, 2010 at the residence of her daughter and son-in- law at Jimtown.

She was born January 30, 1935 at Mill Creek, a daughter of the Late Edward Charles Shreve and Norva Fincham Shreve.

On April 25, 1953 at Mill Creek, she was married to Thomas Michael George, who preceded her in death on December 17, 2002.

She is survived by two sons and two daughters, one sister, twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren also survive.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by five brothers; Bill, Jimmy, Darewood, June and Ernest Shreve and one grandson, Anthony Harlan.

Mrs. George was a homemaker. She was a volunteer with Tyrand Cooperative Ministries where she was named volunteer of the year. She was a member of Fincham Chapel Church.

Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 17th from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Verl Simmons officiating.

Interment will follow at the Rowan Memorial Cemetery at Mabie. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Tyrand Cooperative Ministries, P.O. Box 365, Mill Creek, WV 26280.

The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Margarete Geneva George.
