Marglean N. Mathes Ware, 84, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the Elkins Rehabilitation and Center in Elkins. Marglean was born Wednesday, December 25, 1929 in Webster County, a daughter of the late Clarence Mathes and Dora E. Barker Mathes. Left to cherish Marglean’s memory are her two daughters, Patricia Lindsay and husband, Willie of Beverly and Carolyn Martin and husband, Denzil, of Mill Creek, her one son, Ronnie Channell of Valley Head, eleven grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren. Marglean was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Arnold Mathes, two sisters, Margaret Ware and Juanita Boggess, a grandson, Charles, a granddaughter, Jennifer, and a great granddaughter, Chelsea. Marglean attended the schools of Webster County and was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, and flower and vegetable gardening. She was a Christian by faith. Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 12 noon until 2 PM, the funeral hour. The Reverend Shane Whitacre will officiate and interment will follow at the Valley Head Cemetery in Valley Head. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center, 1175 Beverly Pike, Elkins, WV 26241.
