Marion Ruth Morrison 1920-2002

Marion Ruth Morrison, 82, a resident of the Scott’s Lake Road, Beverly, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at her home following an extended illness.

She was born July 3, 1920, at Parsons, a daughter of the late Luther and Simella Canfield Myers.

On Feb. 26, 1942, she was married to Noel Morrison, who survives at Scott’s Lake.

Also surviving are one son, Roy Dale Morrison and wife, Carolyn Jean, of Elkins; two daughters, Jean Ann Bush and husband, Charlie, of Lancaster, Ohio, and Joy Skinner and husband, Ken, of Clarksburg; one brother, Max Myers, Charleston, S.C.; three sisters, Opal Phillips and Doris Barrett, both of Elkins, and Mildred Ross of Plant City, Fla.; six grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Morrison was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1940 and was a homemaker. She was a loving wife and mother and a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church and the Women’s Society of Christian Service of the church.

Friends were received from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Today, she will be moved to Otterbein United Methodist Church, where friends may call from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Donald L. Lockhart, the Rev. Leon Hevener and the Rev. Bryan Headley will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Hospice, 1410 Crim Ave., Belington, W.Va. 26250 in memory of Mrs. Morrison. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements of Mrs. Marion Ruth Morrison.
