Martha Rebecca Young 1924-2003 Obituary
Martha Rebecca Young, 78, of Route 1, French Creek, died Sunday, July 27, 2003, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
She was born Oct. 24, 1924, at Newlon, a daughter of the late John “Babe” Quincy and Mary Crawford Lee.
She was united in marriage on Nov. 3, 1941, to Ray Young, who survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five sons, John Bruce Young, Larry Ray Young Thomas Wayne Young and James Steven Young, all of French Creek, and Stanley Ray Young of Weston; one daughter, Mary Roseann Young of French Creek; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three brothers, the Rev. Owen Lee of Buckhannon, Berlin Lee of Salem Ridge, and Robert Lee of Lewis County; one sister, Maxine Canter of Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Donice Golden, Dolly Hardman, Agnes Marsh, Madeline Lee and the Rev. Isabella Hyre; and three brothers, Oval O’Dell Lee, Orlando Lee and an infant brother.
Friends will be received at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel with the Rev. David Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. The Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
