Marvin L. Barney Burner 1918-2002 Obituary

Marvin L. “Barney” Burner, 83, of Elkins, and formerly of Frank, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, in Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins following a short illness.

Mr. Burner was born Dec. 12, 1918, in Frank, a son of the late Lester and Della Kincaid Burner.

He married Betty Vance Burner, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis Waslo, Alexandria, Va.; a brother, Dayton Burner, Lewisburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Burner was a foreman with Howes Leather Co. and retired after more than 30 years of service. He was a World War II Navy veteran and served in the Pacific.

Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale Saturday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Walter Blough will officiate. Interment will follow in Arbovale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
