Mary Frances (Buchanan) Hill 1932-2019 Obituary
Mary Frances (Buchanan) Hill, age 86 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away Friday afternoon, April 26, 2019 at Valentine Personal Care Home under the care of WV Caring. She was born December 22, 1932 at Huttonsville, WV, a daughter of the late Woodford Dorse and Carrie Mae Gear Buchanan. On June 24, 1951 she was married to Cecil C. Hill Jr who preceded her in death October 3, 2010.
Surviving is one son, Stephen Randal Hill and friend Debbie Kellar, of Valley Bend, WV and one daughter Denise Ann Hill and friend Jon Sines of Cross Junction, VA. Three grandchildren, Stephanie and husband Brian Roy, Elisa and former husband Joseph White, and Levi Harman all residing in Elkins. Five Great grandchildren, Allen Sisler and wife Samantha, Brandon Davidson and wife Brooke, Patrick Swecker, Jordon Swecker, and Joselynn Swecker; two great-great grandchildren Ruby Jean Sisler and Savannah Davidson; her sister-in-law Lilah Grace Buchanan as well as several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers Junior Lee and Maxwell Dorse Buchanan. Mary graduated from Tygarts Valley High School, Class of 1950. She was a member of the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church Circle #6 for many years. She loved to play bingo and pokeno, crochet, sew, and bike ride. Friends and Family may call from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Monday, April 29, 2019 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. Peter Vial officiating. Interment will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery in Huttonsville, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to Circle 6 of the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church, 450 S. Randolph Ave., Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of Mrs. Hill. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Mary Frances Buchanan Hill.
