Mary Margaret Summerfield Pudder Fawley, 77, a resident of Belington, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at her residence. She had been in failing health since March, however her health had declined since July. Death was attributed to cancer.

She was born July 12, 1925, a daughter of the late Dayton and Sara Wyatt Summerfield.

She was twice married. In December 1943, she was united in marriage to Clarris “Hick” Pudder, who preceded her in death in October 1981. She then married Wayne Fawley, who survives in Belington.

Surviving are three daughters, Louise Holley of Jackson, N.J., Mrs. Vivian Indiero of Virginia, and Sandra Pudder at home; three sons, Clarris Pudder, Henry Pudder and wife, Kay, and Stephen Pudder all of Elkins; three sisters, Mrs. Nancy McNiel of Oldfields, Mrs. Thelma Pudder of Englishtown, N.J., and Mrs. Ina Pudder of Englishtown, N.J.

Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She attended many churches and was Protestant by faith. She loved to crochet and also made quilts. She also loved to make dolls. She was also well known because of her wonderful personality and never meeting a stranger.

Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home Chapel today after 5 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the Runner chapel Saturday at noon. The Rev. Ralph Summerfield of the Norton Community Church and the Rev. Dennis Estes of Buckhannon will officiate. Interment will follow in Elkins Memorial Gardens in Elkins, formerly the IOOF Cemetery. The F.E. Runner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements from Mary Margaret Summerfield Pudder Fawley.
