Mavis F. Woody, 66, of Buckhannon, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

She was born March 19, 1937, in Buckhannon, the daughter of the late Robert Dewey and Lera Tenney Light.

Surviving are two sons, Timothy Woody and wife, Pamela, and Mark Woody and wife, Kathy, all of Buckhannon; three brothers, Delmar Light, Exil Light and Lancel Light, all of Buckhannon; two sisters, Mona Keeler of New Hampshire and Connie Light of Richmond, Va.; four grandsons, Matthew Woody, Daniel Woody, Chase Woody and Shay Woody, all of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Sarah Woody of Bridgeport; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends and neighbors of the Tallmansville community and her church family.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Agatha Hoover.

She worked at the Adrian-Buckhannon Bank for many years and was a coal miner for Island Creek Coal Co. at Ten Mile.

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Tallmansville Baptist Church. The Rev. Mark Davis will officiate and interment will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park.
