Maxine Curry Lantz 1926-2002 Obituary

Maxine Curry Lantz, 75, of Durbin, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Mrs. Lantz was born May 13, 1926, at Durbin, a daughter of the late Harry E. and Virgie Nottingham Curry.

She was married for 60 years to Samuel W. Lantz, who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Karen Collins and husband, Arthur, of Bartow, Francis Greathouse and husband, Dale, and Patricia Greathouse and husband, Bud, all of Durbin; two sons, Woodford Lantz and wife, Joan of Durbin, and Leon Lantz and wife, Bev, of Wheeling; five sisters, Georgia Nelson of Terrell, Texas, Pearl Mace of Ridgeley, Ellouise Hinson of Columbia, S.C., Sandra Kay Mullenax of Hagerstown, Md., and Diane Curry of Hagerstown, Md.; one brother, Franklin Curry of Durbin; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one stepgrandchild and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Arlene Fitzgerald and Opal Moore; and one brother, Leonard Curry.

She was a lifelong resident of Durbin. She was a member of Durbin Brethren Church. She was also a member of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly).

Friends will be received at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at Durbin Brethren Church Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Donnie Curry and the Rev. John Riffe officiating. Interment will follow in Gum Cemetery on Back Mountain. In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to Durbin Brethren Church.
