Michael E. Wallace, 67, of Parkersburg, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center-St. Joseph’s Campus.

He was born October, 15, 1945, in Athens, OH, a son of the late Louis and Catherine Wallace.

He was a decorated U.S. Army Veteran having served in Vietnam. He was employed by the Wood County Board of Education as a custodian for Parkersburg South High School where he retired after 25 years. He was a NASCAR fan and also a fan of baseball and football. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and he loved animals.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Florence V. Wallace; his children William Jack (Sandi), of Vienna, John Jack, of Vienna, Larry Jack (Barbra) of Parkersburg, Vickie Hixon, of Parkersburg, Earl Allman (Pam) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Earlene Workman (Mark), of Vienna, Tammy Ice (Harry), of Parkersburg, and Ed Allman (Joni) of Pittsburgh, PA; 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren; a sister Kathy Shuman, of Parkersburg; a brother Steven Wallace, of TN and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1 pm Friday, August 23, 2013, at the Leavitt Funeral Home Parkersburg, with pastor Mark Watkins officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Parkersburg, P.O. Box 392, Parkersburg, WV, 26102.
