Mildred L. Donaldson Leary Donaldson, 83, a former resident of 414 Central St., Apt. 9, Elkins, and a resident of Nella’s at Crystal Springs for the past 18 months, passed away at 9:32 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, in Davis Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for the past three days.

Death was attributed to complications from surgery.

Born April 16, 1920, at Weaver, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Dolly Mae Stipes Donaldson.

She was formerly married to Earnest D. Leary, who survives on Central Street in Elkins.

In addition, she is survived by two sons, Jack D. Painter and wife, Pearl, and Delmis Leary, all of Elkins; two grandsons, Charles B. Corley Jr. and James Lee Corley; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was preceded in death by three sons, Charles B. Corley, infants James Roy and Stacey Edward Leary; three sisters, Olive Powell, Laura Phillips and Bertha Wilson; one brother, Maynard Donaldson; and a special nephew, Little Buster Wilson.

Mildred attended the schools of Barbour County and was a homemaker. She had a special feeling for all of God’s animals, especially stray cats that she would take in to love and feed. She also loved to garden.

She was a Protestant by faith and attended the Church of God of Prophecy.

Friends will be received at the F.E. Runner Funeral Home after 6 p.m. today. Funeral services will be conducted from the Runner Chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The Rev. Vernard Tasker, pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Mouse Cemetery at Cravensdale. The F.E. Runner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mildred L. Donaldson Leary Donaldson.
