MILDRED M. WEAVER Mildred M. Weaver, 100, of Rt. #1, Moatsville, died Sunday morning, February 21, in Mansfield Place, Philippi, following an extended illness.

She was born June 7, 1909, at Moatsville, a daughter of the late Stingley Lambert Moats and the late Nora Day (Ryan) Moats.

On August 12, 1939, she was married to Alva Dore Weaver, at the Nestorville Parsonage by the Rev. A. C. Conley.

Mr. Weaver preceded her in death on January 12, 1962. Mrs. Weaver was a longtime resident of Laurel Creek Community and the Grab-a-Nickle area of Philippi, before becoming a resident of Mansfield Place. Surviving are one son, John Calvin Weaver and wife, Judy, Moatsville; three grandchildren, Jeffery Craig Weaver and wife, Sally, Morgantown, Jennifer Weaver, Moatsville, Janelle Weaver, Atlanta, Ga.; three great grandchildren, Alyssa Weaver and twins, Ashleigh and Amanda Weaver, all of Morgantown. Mrs. Weaver was also preceded in death by three sisters, Bly Hotsinpiller, Eva Bennett and an infant sister, Ginerva Moats; and by three step-children, Fern Mellie, Paul “P.K.” Weaver and Ward Weaver.

Mrs. Weaver was a homemaker and farmer.

She had attended the Laurel Creek United Methodist Church, the Fairview United Brethern Church and was a member of the Laurel Creek Farm Women’s Club.

During the summer she enjoyed vegetable gardening and during the winter, she enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting and quilting.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 23, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 South Main Street, Philippi.

The Rev. Bill Smith will officiate and interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Monday and from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., the funeral hour, on Tuesday. Stemple & Forman Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
