Minnie P. Colantino Bitonti, 87, of Fairmont, died Thursday evening, Dec. 18, 2003, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

She was born in Fairmont on May 7, 1916, the daughter of the late Dominick and Clara Sante Fraternali Bitonti.

She retired from Fairmont State College where she was a buyer for the college bookstore. She previously worked for the Marion County Civil Defense and was a former secretary for Robert H. Mollohan. She had also worked for Hawkins plumbing and Owens Illinois.

She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was a member of the St. Lucy Guild and was a member of the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.

She was also a member of the SMC club for more than 60 years, and was a member of the Village Way Birthday Club and the Garden Village garden club.

After years of service at Fairmont State College, Minnie spent time enjoying family and friends and also working in her garden and her home.

She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Karol Enright of Fairmont, Karen Larry and husband, Edward, of Philippi and Veronica “Vicki” Shultz of Bunner Ridge.

She is also survived by four sisters, Kaye Baird of Cape Coral, Fla., Lenore Pacifico of Fairmont, Violet Duke and husband, Rudy, of Barrackville and Mary Lou Farrell of Ft. Myers, Fla; and one brother-in-law, Patsy Bitonti of Fairmont.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Adrian T. Larry, Aaron F. Larry and wife, Lori Irwin-Larry, Kristine Enright Condie and husband, Joe, Michael Shultz, currently deployed n Iraq, and Madelaine Shultz; two great-grandchildren, Julia Renee Condie and Adrienne Danielle “Dani” Pritt; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank “Buckeye” Bitonti, in 1966; and brothers John Colantino and two infant brothers.

Visitation was from noon to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Ross Funeral Home in Fairmont where a vigil service was held at 7 p.m. Sunday. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. today at the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Fr. Leonard Smith as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
