Gladys G. Snelson, 70, a former resident of Huttonsville and Mill Creek, and a resident of the Tygart Valley Manor for the past two years, passed away Sunday morning, March 10, 2002, at her residence. She had been in her usual health and death was sudden and unexpected.

She was born Sept. 2, 1931, at Huttonsville, a daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Kyle Gear.

She was united in marriage to Junior George Snelson, who preceded her in death in 1990.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Snelson of Anmore, and Ruth Murdock and husband, Marvin, of Holenwald, Tenn.; four sons, Harold Gear and wife, Kay, of Columbia, S.C., George “Pete” Snelson and wife, Erma, Green Bank, Bobby Snelson and wife, Debbie of Beverly, and Sanford Snelson of Mill Creek; one sister, Ruth Currence of Mill Creek; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband was one daughter, five sons, four brothers and one granddaughter.

She was a homemaker and a Protestant by faith. She attended the Mill Creek Memorial Mission Church.

Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home today after 6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Frank Long, pastor of the Mill Creek Memorial Mission Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Brick Church Cemetery at Huttonsville.
