Muriel “Mimi” Emma Lang Bibey Burkhammer, 92, a resident of Elkins, and a former longtime resident of Junior, passed from this life Friday, November 13, 2020, at Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center.

Mimi was born Friday, September 7, 1928, in Manhattan, NY, a daughter of the late Charles Lang and Tovola Reasin Lang. She was twice married. First to Robert Bibey and then to Lewis Burkhammer, both preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are three children, Sue Kennedy of Elkins, Bob Bibey and wife Beverly of Inwood, and Jo Poling and husband Lowell of Elyria, OH, six grandchildren, Nichol Earp, Jennifer Currence and husband Matt, Diane Brown and husband Shannon, Bryan Bibey, Lesley Poling, and Douglas Poling and wife Kellie, great-grandchildren, Tyson and Cambrie Currence, Trinity and Skylee Brown, Jessa and Emma Earp, and Mallory and Cooper Poling.

Preceding her in death besides her parents and husbands was one granddaughter, Janette Kennedy.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center for their treatment, attentiveness, and loving kindness for their mother.

Mimi’s request for cremation was honored and interment will take place at a later date next to her husband Lewis in Junior. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Mimi’s name to Junior Bethel United Methodist Church, 1st Street, Junior WV 26275.
