NATHAN ADAM “NATE” SWEARINGEN, age 25 years, a resident of Charleston, WV departed this life Sunday, March 27, 2011 at his home. He had been in declining health, however his death was unexpected.

He was born Thursday, May 30, 1985 at Oakland, MD, beloved son of Jack D. Swearingen, Jr. and Vickie Sue Wiles Swearingen, who survive at Augusta, WV.

Also surviving are one brother, Lance Swearingen of Sterling, VA; paternal grandfather, Jack D. Swearingen of Hambleton, maternal grandparents, William and Helen Hershman Wiles of Amboy, WV; his fiance’ Rabia Tosun; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceding him in death are his maternal grandmother, Wanda Mae Johnson Swearingen.

He was a graduate of East Hardy High School with the Class of 2003. He attended West Virginia Weslyan College in Buckhannon, WV, where he is a member of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. He worked with his brother, Lance for Global Tutors Inc., an online tutoring and education co. headquartered in Sterling, VA, as an Account Executive responsible for the North American Market. Personable and energetic, he liked meeting and helping people. He was a high achiever winning many awards in both school and work. He enjoyed music, playing guitar, hunting, camping, fishing and anything outdoors, being with family and friends, studying and debating philosophy, world events, and history, traveling, reading and fine cigars. He was a true blessing to anyone who knew him and will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Friday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 1:30 PM. The Rev. Neil Parsons will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV.
