Mr. Nelson Theodore “Ted” Delauder Jr. age 55 a resident of the Stringtown Community near Belington departed this life late Sunday evening June 30, 2019 at his home. He had been in declining health but death was unexpected.

Ted was born July 24th 1963 at Elkins the eldest son of the Late Rev. Nelson Theodore and Ruby Irene Riffle Delauder. Ted grew up in Junior and attended the schools of Barbour County. Ted earned his GED in the early 90s and went on to work in healthcare to answer his calling to serve people. Ted worked multiple jobs to provide for his family, making several sacrifices to make ends meet. He was previously employed at the Davis Medical Center as an EKG Monitor Tech and Ward Clerk for over twenty years. His job allowed him to meet many people and build numerous relationships. Ted was known for his great pride he took in his children and grandchildren, his strong work ethic, his love for animals and his contagious sense of humor.

Ted was twice married first on May 1, 1988 to the Former Shelia Ester Rutherford who preceded him in death on June 25th 2015. Second on October 21, 2017 he married Jeffrey Allan Delauder who survives at their home in Belington.
Additional survivors include one daughter Kassie Swecker and husband Tim of Elkins, one son Adam Delauder and wife Barbie of Belington, four step daughters; Brandy, Shannon, Laura, and Chelsea. Siblings surviving are two sisters; Sue Weaver of Belington, Lisa Starkey and Husband John of Belington, and Ron Delauder and wife Shirley of Belington.

Grandchildren surviving are Nicholas Delauder, Joel Swecker, seven step grandsons, one step granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his first wife he was preceded in death by one brother John Wade Delauder, and a grandson Labon Swecker.

Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Wednesday July 3, 2019 from 10am – 2pm the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Roger Foster officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinity Cemetery near Belington. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.talbottfuneralhome.com .
