OBITUARY: NETTIE BOOTH Nettie Booth, 91, a resident of the Barbour County Good Samaritan Center, formerly of Rt. #2, Belington, died Monday morning, June 14, in the Good Samaritan Center. She was born June 29, 1918, at Belington, a daughter of the late Charley and Jessie (England) Fitzwater. On October 31, 1936, she was married to Francis Edward “Bobbin” Booth, who preceded her in death on January 6, 1995. Survivors include a granddaughter, Kimberly Fetter and a great grandson, Kelby Fetter, both of Teter Lake Community; one brother, Forrest Fitzwater, Kent, Oh.; two loving care givers, Linda Browning and Pat Boyles, Belington and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son, Junior Francis “Bud” Booth; by five sisters, Opal Koontz, Margaret Poe, Dolly Booth, Lorena Cooper and an infant sister, Violet; and by one brother, William Fitzwater. Mrs. Booth was a homemaker and along with her husband, had owned and operated the Tygart Restaurant in Belington. Mrs. Booth was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church and was a former member of Belington Chapter #68, Order of the Eastern Star. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 18, from the Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel, 609 Crim Avenue, Belington. The Rev. Arden Beck will officiate and interment will follow in the Sugar Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Thursday and from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M., the funeral hour, on Friday. It was Mrs. Booth’s request that memorials be made in the form of contributions to the West Side United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society. Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
