Nolan Ralph Hamrick, 94, a resident of 2837 Pike St., Parkersburg, formerly of Route 6, the Tennerton community, Buckhannon, departed this life Monday, April 28, 2003.

On March 1, 1935, he married Maude L. Salisbury Hamrick, who preceded him in death on May 3, 1996.

Surviving are three daughters, Dora G. Winkler and husband, Blaine, of Covenington, Ky., Kathleen L. Reed of Parkersburg, and Portia M. Fortney of Buckhannon; one son, Bryan E. Hamrick of Parkersburg; three grandsons and four granddaughters, eight great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters and two stepgreat-granddaughters.

One sister, Jessie Osburn of Webster Springs, survives.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Arlen Hamrick, Orden Hamrick and Owen Hamrick; and six sisters, Leo Gregory, Velva Armentrout, Lela Harris, Genevieve Miller, Ina Osburn and Ruth Davis.

Mr. Hamrick was a coal miner and worked for Pardee and Curtin No. 4 mine in Webster County. He had been injured in a mining accident in 1948.

He loved having beautiful flower gardens and had learned the art of crocheting, which he enjoyed very much.

He was a Methodist by faith and attended many churches.

Friends will be received today from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Frank Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
