Norah Lauvada Strawser, 97, of Eglon, and for the past nine years, a resident of Nella’s Inc. Nursing Home of Elkins died Nov. 11.

She was born Apirl 18, 1904 in Eglon, a daughter of the late John William and sylvia M. Calcamp Evans. On Dec. 20, 1924 at Gnegy church, MD, she was united in marriage to Ervin B. Strawser, who preceded her in death on June 15, 1981.

Surviving are two children, a daughter Mrs. Dorman (Helen) L. Phillips of Elkins; a son, Glenn D. (and Helen) Strawser of Eglon; four grandsons, Roger Lee Strawser, Eglon, Alan Dale Strawser, Amboy, Dorman Steven and Timothy Kent Phillips of Elkins; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; a sister-in-law, Effie M. Wolfe, Thomas and several nieces and nephews.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by a sister, Violet M. Evans and a brother, Harry B. Evans and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Strawser was a homemaker and a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church at Aurora. Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Davis. Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 1 pm, at Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, Eglon, with Rev. David Moon officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Eglon Cemetery.
