Norma Elene Bohon Bava 1930-2002 Obituary

Norma Elene Bohon Bava, 71, a resident of Hendricks, departed this life Friday evening, July 26, 2002, at her home. She had been in declining health and death was attributed to cancer.

She was born Aug. 18, 1930, at St. George, a daughter of the late George B. Bohon and Nellie Gay Gower Bohon.

On Nov. 7, 1948, at Red House, Md., she was married to Joseph Harry Bava Sr., who preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1989.

Surviving are four sons, John D. Bava and wife, Luanna, James B. Bava and wife, Jennie, Pete M. Bava and wife, Kay and David A. Bava, all of Hendricks; three daughters, Dianna L. Phillips and husband, Randall, Hendricks, Connie S. Rosier and husband, Denver, Elkins, and Louanna B. Carr and husband, Patrick, Parsons; one stepson, Joseph H. Bava Jr. and wife, Helen, St. George; two stepdaughters, Dorothy Oberding, Wisconsin, and Joann Jarosiewicz, Elkins; five sisters, Eva Lee Carter and husband, Don, Wanda Booth and husband, Edwin, Louetta Mason and Ruth Carr and husband, Roger, all of Parsons, and Linda Bates and husband, Larry, Hambleton; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and nine stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Glen, Arley and Clarence Bohon; three sisters, Idella Bohon, Ester Bohon and Peggy Wright; and one special grandson, Darrin L. Moss.

She attended the schools of Tucker County. She worked for the former Penn Avenue Dairy. She was a member of the S.M.P.J. Lodge. She was a homemaker and a member of the Parsons Church of God.

The family will receive friends at the Parsons Church of God from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. On Tuesday morning, at 11 a.m. final rites will be conducted. Pastor Eli Hostetler will officiate and interment will follow at the McNeeley Cemetery at Hendricks. The Barb & Greenlief Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
