Norville Albert Cottle, Jr., age 86, of Buckhannon, West Virginia died Friday, December 3, 2021, at the Genesis Salem Center in Salem, WV. He was born on September 21, 1935, in Covington, VA, a son of the late Norville Albert Cottle, Sr. and Frances Elizabeth Weikel Cottle. Norville is survived by his loving wife Marian Lee Huffman Cottle. He met Marian, the love of his life, while attending Richwood High School in Richwood, West Virginia. On October 15, 1956, he was united in marriage to Marian and shared 65 wonderful years together. Also surviving are two daughters: Rebecca Lee and husband Thomas Lee Beets, Jr. of Morgantown, West Virginia and Sarah and husband David Cutright of Buckhannon, West Virginia; seven grandchildren: Bryan Thomas Beets and wife Tiffany, Danielle Cristin and husband Matt Floyd, Lindsey Nicholle and husband Kyler Woody, Ladora Ann Cutright, Emily Grace Cutright, William Michael Cutright, and Isabella Rose Cutright; and three great grandchildren: Tristan Allen Bailey, Makenna Rayne Beets, and Kevin Lee Woody. Norville also has two nieces who reside in Florida along with great nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant son and one brother Carroll Lee “Tuck” Cottle.
Norville was a veteran of the US Navy, having served from 1955-1962. In 1978, he was graduated from Jones College in Jacksonville, Fla. with a B.S. degree in Business Management. While living in Florida, he worked for Pratt & Whitney and Eli Witt Vending Company then moving to Buckhannon, West Virginia in 1986, together with his wife, he owned and operated a floral and craft wholesale business and later the two spent many years as rural mail carriers.
Norville knew Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and he is now in the presence of his beloved Lord. He was a devoted Christian and member of the Wayside Southern Baptist Church.
Norville was also a devoted husband, dad, and granddaddy and will be deeply missed by his family and all those whose lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at Wayside Southern Baptist Church, 539 Brushy Fork Road, Buckhannon, West Virginia on Saturday, December 11, 2021, with friends and family gathering from 12-1:00 PM, and a service beginning at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Scott Owens officiating.
