Okey Harold Buddy Thompson Jr. 1974-2002 Obituary

Okey Harold “Buddy” Thompson Jr., 27, a resident of Route 2, Elkins, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2002, at 12:35 p.m. in Davis Memorial Hospital emergency room, from injuries sustained in an accident.

He was born Aug. 2, 1974, in Elkins, a son of the late Okey Harold Thompson and Wanda Rowan Thompson, who survives at Route 2, the Cravens Run community.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Lola E. Thompson of the Cravens Run community; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceding him in death besides his father were his maternal grandparents, Jeffie and Lola Poling Rowan; and his paternal grandmother, Edna Thompson.

“Buddy” was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1993, the last class to graduate from the old Elkins High. He was formerly employed by the Kroger Co. and loved mowing and cleaning yards for various families in the area. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a Protestant by faith.

Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home Chapel Monday after 6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the Runner Chapel Tuesday at 11a.m. Pastor Ralph Andrus, of the Calvary Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Montrose Primitive Baptist Cemetery at Montrose.
