Oletta Hester Fortney Oletta Hester (Boylen) Fortney, age 80 of Canton, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012. She was born on October 23, 1931 at Kasson, West Virginia to the late William H. and Elizabeth V. (Wilson) Boylen. Mrs. Fortney was a member of the Moose Canton Post 233 for 16 years and the Salvation Army. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne L. Fortney; son, Roy H. Fortney; brother, James Thomas (Grover) Boylen; sister, Mary Wilson and granddaughter, Jessica Burke. She is survived by her children, Wayne (Lisa) Fortney II of Tucson, Arizona, Donald (Beth) Fortney of Mogadore, Ohio and Ruth Ann Burke of Memphis, Tennessee; former-son in law, Russell Burke; grandchildren, Russell Burke Jr., and Cassandra Burke, Donald Fortney II and Matthew Fortney; and great grandchildren, Carey and Gaven Burke and a sister, Corda Hoffman, Philippi. Friends may call from 3:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi, W.Va. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 8, at the Shiloh Cemetery with Pastor Garry Clem officiating. Local arrangements were entrusted to the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home.
