Oma I. Walton 1919-2002 Obituary

Oma I. Walton, 82, of Buckhannon Manor, and formerly of Eden community, died Saturday, April 20, 2002, at her home.

She was born June 1, 1919, in Adrian, a daughter of the late Thomas Utah and Lilly Mae Tenney Gould.

On June 6, 1936, she married Macil Willis Walton, who preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 1983.

Surviving are six sons, Willis Walton and Rex Walton, both of Buckhannon, Harold Walton of Rock Cave, Lonnie Walton of Horner, Roy Walton and Terry Walton, both of Eden; three daughters, Ellen Smith of Buckhannon, Susan Wilder of Bellevue, Ohio, and Kathy Barnhart of Vernal, Utah; 19 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Virginia Friend of Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by one daughter and one brother.

She was a homemaker and attended the West Buckhannon United Methodist Church and was a member of the Eden United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received at Tomblyn-whitescarver Funeral Home Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dennis Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Kanawha Head.
