Oneta Mae Stone, age 90, of Buckhannon, WV, died Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Roger Howard, while surrounded by her family. She was born May 24, 1922, a daughter of the late Audra and Nora Belle Riggleman Wilt. Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell C. Pritt, and her second husband, Charles A. Stone. Also preceding her in death were one infant sister; three brothers, Jack, Junior and Robert Wilt and one son, John D. Wilt. Mrs. Stone was a lifelong resident of Upshur County and a longtime member of the Sand Run Baptist Church. She was a member of the Heavner Grove CEO’s and a longtime devoted volunteer of the Parish House Clothes Closet. Mrs. Stone is survived by her two daughters, Betty Beeson and husband Joe of South Charleston, WV and Jean Howard and husband Roger of Buckhannon; one step-son, Gary Stone and wife Pat of Buckhannon; special grandchildren, John Wilt Jr. and wife Crystal of Ellamore, WV and Craig Beeson and wife Natalie of South Charleston, Lea Anne Yates and husband Rodney of Clarksburg, WV, Cristina Dillon and husband Chad of Fairmont, WV and Andrea Beeson of South Charleston. She is also survived by four precious great-grandchildren, Lilly and Gabriel Dillon both of Fairmont, Benjamin Beeson of South Charleston and Sarah Bender and husband Anthony of Ellamore; several much loved cousins, nieces, nephews and her faithful dog, Spencer. Friends will be received Sunday, May 26, 2013 from 12 Noon until 2 PM at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Upshur Parish House 68 College Ave., Buckhannon, WV 26201. Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
