Opal Mae Taylor 1910-2002 Obituary

Opal Mae Taylor, 92, of 3381 Darrow Road, Stow, Ohio, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, at Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio.

Mrs. Taylor was born July 27, 1910, in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Ovie Guy and Mary Ollie Jeffries Jeffries.

On May 19, 1929, she married James Audley Taylor, who preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 1975.

Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth and husband, Charles Adams, Stow, Ohio, and Joyce V. Crites, Buckhannon; three granddaughters, Vicki Altomare and John, Munroe Falls, Ohio, Susie and husband, Lynn Miller, Buckhannon, and Mary Pryor and Chris, Akron, Ohio; six grandsons, Randy Adams and Joleine, Stow, Ohio, Rick Crites and wife, Debby Milburn, Kingsport, Tenn., David Gibson, Seattle, Wash., Bruce Gibson and Shirley, Barnardsville, N.C., Terry Gibson, Seattle, Wash., and James R. Gibson, Akron, Ohio; 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Billy Joe Taylor; two daughters, Helen June Gibson and Mary Lou Taylor; two sisters, Anna Mae Knight and Madeline Jeffries; and one son-in-law, Frank Crites.

Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker. She was a Methodist by faith.

Friends will be received at Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home Thursday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William C. Eskew Jr. and the Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
