Opal Pearl Carpenter 1912-2002 Obituary

Opal Pearl Carpenter, 89, of Fairfax, Va., and formerly of Duffy, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, in Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, Va.

Mrs. Carpenter was born Nov. 15, 1912, in Bablin, a daughter of the late Bruce and Eula Wilson Caynor.

On July 4, 1927, she married Russell Ford Carpenter, who preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1989.

Surviving are seven sons, Ford Carpenter, Elyria, Ohio, Kenneth Carpenter, Arnold Carpenter and Ernest Carpenter, all of Weston, Ronald Carpenter, Inwood, Morris Carpenter, Sykes, Md., and James Carpenter, Florida; a daughter, Mabel Mishler, Fairfax, Va.; two brothers, Kermit Caynor, Norton, Ohio, and Earl Caynor, Barberton, Ohio; a sister, Freda Rexroad, Duffy; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Willard Caynor; and a grandson, Kenny Davidson.

Mrs. Carpenter was a homemaker. She attended Elijah Chapel United Methodist Church in Bablin.

Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Alkire Funeral Home in Ireland Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Saturday at 3 p.m. Interment will follow in McCutchan Chapel Cemetery.
