Parker L. Hogan 1906-2002

Parker L. Hogan, 96, of Monterville, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center.

He was born at Monterville on March 24, 1906, a son of the late George W. and Tabitha Hamrick Hogan.

He was a farmer and a member of the Union Mission Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie R. Hogan; two brothers, William Wesley and Edison Bruce Hogan; and four sisters, Mary Riggleman, Mayme Hamrick, Lettie Riggleman and Erma Wamsley.

He is survived by two daughters, Sarah H. Conrad of Monterville, and Erma L. Pack of Worthington, Ohio; two sons, Winton Don Hogan of Morgantown, and William Gould Hogan of Chicora, Pa.; one sister, Lina Williams of Fairmont; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Eddie Kyle will hold funeral services Friday at 11 a.m. at the residence in Monterville. Burial will follow in the Heavener Cemetery. Friends may call at the residence at Monterville Thursday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. It was Mr. Hogans request that there be no flowers. VanReenen Funeral Home in Marlinton is in charge of the arrangements.
