Paul Willard Casto, 73, a resident of South Davis Avenue, Elkins, and a former resident of Philippi, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2003, in the Barbour County Good Samaritan.

He was born Oct. 31, 1929, in Philippi, a son of the late Hersel V. and Gladys Virginia Casto.

He was united in marriage on Dec. 19, 1969, to Betty L. Casto, who survives.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Linda A. and husband, Michael Losquadro, of Philippi; one stepdaughter, Sandra L. Kelley of Steubenville, Ohio; one stepson, Jeffrey G. Kelley of Elkins; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Hope D. Casto of Philippi, and Jackie and husband, Richard Jones, of Belington; and one granddaughter, Mikela A. Losquadro.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Charlotte Booth, Kay Smith and Mary K. Casto.

He retired from Island Creek Coal Mines in Bayard as a coal miner. He was a member of the AF & AM Lodge 108 of Elkins.

He was a Protestant by faith.

Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, after 1 p.m. today and until 3 p.m. Thursday, the service hour, with the Rev. Marvin Parli officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery with the AF & AM Lodge 108 of Elkins conducting graveside services.
