Pauline Hinzman Linger, age 86 of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at her home. She was born October 30, 1924 in Weston, WV, a daughter of the late James Carl and Anna Mulcahy Hinzman. On November 17, 1950 she married Eli Gail Linger who preceded her in death on May 12, 1987. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Thomas “Tommy” Hinzman and James Hinzman and one sister, Mary Margaret “Peggy” McDonnell. She is survived by two daughters, Elissa Mills and husband LTC Terry of Buckhannon and Mary Anna Oldaker and husband James R. of Weston; one grandson, Jeffrey Oldaker of Volga, WV; one granddaughter, Deanna Lindsay and husband Cam of State College, PA; one great grandson, A.J. Lindsay of State College; beloved dogs, Chiquita, Lucy, Lola and Max and other furry companions and a very special friend, Dr. Ali Khan whom she loved dearly. A term of affection that had been given to her was the title of Strawberry Queen of 1947. She was a C & P Telephone Operator. In 1977 she started working for Guardian Food Services and was known as the hostess of Hardee’s. She served as a volunteer for different groups and organizations. In keeping with her wishes, her body will be donated to the WV School of Osteopathic Medicine at Lewisburg and also as per her request there will be no viewing, services and her ashes will be scattered at a later date. The family plans a gathering of friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Pauline would like for people to make donations to either St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Pet Charity of their choice.
