Pauline Phillips Brown, 80, a resident of 130 Parkwood Drive, Buckhannon, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at Holbrook’s Nursing Home,

She was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Adrian, the daughter of the late Charles Samuel and Hattie Dell Thompson Smith.

She was twice married. On Dec. 24, 1941, she was married to Glenn Phillips, who preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1985.

On Aug. 25, 1988, she was married to Harold Richard Rowan, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Larry R. Phillips, Buckhannon, and Roger Glenn Phillips, Buckhannon; one daughter, Shirley A. Smith, Mt. Clare; one stepson, Ronald Rowan, Buckhannon; one stepdaughter, Patty Hoover, French Creek; four sisters, Ethelean Bennett, Buckhannon, Rosalean Humphrey, Philippi, Mabelean Orsburn, Nutter Fort, and Emelean Quick, Buckhannon; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were three sisters, Bethelean Stonebraker, Madeline Phillips and Ilene Welch; and one brother, Willard Smith.

Mrs. Rowan was a homemaker and a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and the Sunshine Group of Sand Run.

Friends will be received at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. On Thursday she will be moved to the Mt. Union United Methodist Church for visitation from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Vicki Shepard will officiate and interment will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery.
