Pauline Walls McCauley 1926-2019 Obituary
Pauline Walls McCauley, age 93 years, a resident of the Cravensdale Community, Elkins, WV departed this life Friday afternoon, September 27, 2019 at the Davis Medical Center at Elkins, WV surrounded by her loving family. Death was unexpected.
She was born Sunday, May 9, 1926 at Grantsville, MD a daughter of the late John C. Walls, Jr., and Jenny Mae Butler Walls. On June 11, 1960, at The Cove, MD she was married to Howard Lafayette McCauley, Jr., who preceded her in death September 2, 2007.
Surviving are three sons, Paul Howard McCauley and wife Donna of Beverly, S. Randy McCauley and wife Lisa of Cravensdale, and Kevin James McCauley of Elkins three grandchildren, Hannah Faith, Matthew Randal, and Scott Marlin McCauley; and several nieces and one nephew.
Preceding her in death are eight brothers, Sigmund Butler, William Walls, Clifford Walls, Bernard Walls, Oscar Walls, David Walls, Henry Walls and her twin Paul Walls; five sisters, Edna Walls Urich, Goldie Walls, Edith Walls Keck, Evelyn Walls Hollida, and Julia Walls Durst.
She attended the schools of Garrett County, MD, and worked in several factories in Ohio and Pennsylvania, before returning home to care for her mother. She then returned to Pennsylvania for work until her marriage to Howard, when she became a homemaker. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church at Elkins where she taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed watching classic TV shows, and television ministers. She liked board games, especially Chinese checkers and Scrabble and most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Calvary Baptist Church of Elkins from 6 to 8 PM, Monday. Final Rites will be conducted at the Church, Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 11 AM. Pastor Ralph Andrus will officiate and interment will follow at the Mouse Cemetery at Cravensdale, WV.
